The difference a day or two makes

The first photo I took two days ago when it was almost 70 degrees and this morning I woke up to 18 degrees and snow on the ground. I'm sure the flowers are as confused as I am!

Today At The Waterfront

Welder making repairs to guard rail on Salmon Seiner

Otter breaking open clam using a rock as a hammer. Otters are one of the few animals besides Mankind that use tools.

Leaving the canery, next stop the fuel dock then off to work.

Another Eagle picture for Ron. This fellow was keeping a sharp eye on all that was going on.

More from Arizona

This was taken just outside of Phoenix, Arizona. The red hill in the foreground on the left is where a lot of gold was mined. I think there is still some there!

3 Things you don't want to run into!

The things you run into when you hike.......

I ran across this guy during the same hike. They're REALLY big up close!

On the trail

I came across this little critter while hiking a couple of days ago.

Wasting time at the beach

Had an hour or so to kill yesterday afternoon so went looking for something to shoot... I found this fellow and his little friend at a local beach. Both were kind enough to stick around long enough for me to get a few nice pictures of them.

Polly want a cracker?

This was taken in Hawaii. The hotel my wife and I stayed at had several birds around the open air lobby.

Right place at the right time.

Some times it just works out... There you are with your camera and suddenly there's the perfect shot. Shortly after taking these pictures several cars parked beside this beautiful 57 Chevy and the moment was over.

More Crazy Clouds

OK, so I didn't run to the basement right away.

Elk

It's amazing how well these animals can hear. I was down wind almost 100 yards with a twenty mile an hour wind blowing and everytime the "silent wave" focus adjusted on my lens they looked up right in my direction. I couldn't even hear the lens but they could!

Crazy Clouds

These clouds were over my house as a tornado producing storm was moving into the area. They looked different so I took a photo before I went and hid in the basement.

Bald Eagles and a new camera

In 2005 I finally broke down and purchased my first digital SLR a Nikon D50. On that first day out looking for things to photograph with my new toy I came across a few eagles. I can't think of a better way to have broken in a new camera!

On Top of the World

OK, it's not the top of the world, just the top of a mountain and a small mountain at that. This was taken from the top of Mount Scott in Oklahoma looking towards the southeast.

FV "Wayward"

Foggy day in Quatsino Sound + Picture + Photoshop = FV "Wayward"

Is it summer yet?

These are prairie dogs and not groundhogs but isn't one shadow just as good as the next?

Crystalized water

Frost growing at a 90° angle on the edge of broken ice. Interesting

Found these growing inside square metal fence posts after about four days of below freezing weather.

Arizona Sunset

This is just outside of Phoenix, Arizona during the winter. I think it gets all of 50 degrees there when it gets cold!

Mesa, Arizona

This was taken in the mountains just outside of Mesa, Arizona. The mountain in the background is known as Red Mountain and is on one of the Indian Reservations.

Sunrise in Kansas

This photo was taken the morning my grandson was born. I was already up so I thought I might as well take a few photos!

Thinking of Summertime

This was taken last summer in the flatlands of Kansas.

Took this picture this evening while heading home. Usually have the inlet to myself this time of year. Nice to see a fellow comuter.

Duking it out in the woods

This photo was taken in the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge in southwest Oklahoma early one morning.

Seagulls and Eagles

So here it is... My first post in the Travelers Photo Blog.

The Northern tip of Vancouver Island has both Commercial Fishing and Logging as the main industrys.

This first picture is of 2 large Commercial Fishing boats. The near boat is set up for "long line" fishing and the far boat is set up as a "dragger".
So while out poking around this afternoon my Wife and I spotted quite a number of birds. on closer investigation these birds turned out to be Seagulls and Eagles. Both birds are normal to see around here but this many in one place at one time is quite unusual unless there is "feed" of some sort to attract them.

This last picture is of an Eagle with a Sea Lion in the background.

Lana'i Hawaii

This is one of my favorite photos. It was taken from the 22nd floor of the Hyatt Regency Resort on Ka'anaplai Beach, Maui looking out over the ocean towards Lana'i.
