Looking forward to putting it through it's paces in Hawaii, perhaps this coming fall.Paulhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04679461800084973868noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8116206520787459203.post-23582481269312987712013-04-01T17:03:09.172-10:002013-04-01T17:03:09.172-10:00Looks like it is going to be a good toy for you an...Looks like it is going to be a good toy for you and paired with the 18-300 you should't have any problem capturing sunsets, bird or macros. It will be neat to see what you are able to capture with the combo.Aaronhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03733707969674701868noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8116206520787459203.post-19928428568438761252013-04-01T15:36:11.357-10:002013-04-01T15:36:11.357-10:00Congratulations on your new toy! This camera gets sharp and clear captures consistently.

I'm also seeing much less noise in the high ISO captures. What I'm getting with the D7100 at ISO 6400 is as good or better than what I was getting with the D90 at ISO 1600. In that way I can still get good pictures in lower light.

The expeed 3 processor has a really good algorithm for deciding shutter speed based on focal length if you select to use the auto ISO / minimum shutter speed feature. For example at 18mm the shutter speed would be much lower than at 300mm. This also helps keep you into the lower ISO's.

The continuous auto focus absolutely came alive with the 18-300 lens as soon as I put it on the D7100. On the D90 is seemed somewhat sluggish by comparison.

Definitely no buyer's remorse on this purchase!

Paulhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04679461800084973868noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8116206520787459203.post-5678972238907877502013-04-01T03:23:33.622-10:002013-04-01T03:23:33.622-10:00Strings of clear beads frozen in time! Have you noticed much deference in the amount of light it takes to get a good shot with the 24mp of the D7100 compared to the D90?Ronhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16449035484180022546noreply@blogger.com
