Woolly Bear Caterpillar

Found a Woolly Bear Caterpillar this morning. According to folklore one can predict the coming winter by measuring how long the center section with the lighter colored fur is (or dots in the case of this specimen). The longer the center section, the milder the winter.

Banana Slug

I finally figured out why they call these West Coast land dwelling mollusks "Banana Slugs"... Not only do they look like an old bruised banana but they are about the same size. Banana Slugs can grow up to 10 inches long!

It's Late Night with Ron and Aaron

 

Aaron and I spent another late night out taking photos of the night skies this past weekend.

 

I'm a little late in getting something posted because my computer caught a virus on Saturday and it corrupted the hard drive and the operating system so bad I had to buy a new computer. Windows 8 is a pain in the butt!

Normally, I don't sleep much while I'm travelling, I guess I'm getting old.  Well, these shots are from one of those nights from sleepless in San Francisco.

Smooth Operator

 For as large as these birds are they are very smooth when it comes to landing. I am a little late posting these. I took them back in March when Ron and I met up with Q to take photos in Oklahoma. I have a lot of photos from that trip I haven't had time to post. So I guess better late than never right?

My Water Lilies

Here's my take on the water lilies that Aaron and I shot this weekend.

It's tough getting on the ground to take a photo when your son is standing by laughing the whole time.

Something weird, Just for Tex

I really wanted to get the 360 degree feel on the shot I posted yesterday so I went back to photoshop and curled my panorama just to see what it would look like.

It's a little weird and I wouldn't want to do it all of the time but it is something a little different and it definitely catches your eye.

I think I can do this one day!

Weekend Water Lilies

 First time in a month or so that I have got free from work to take a few pictures. Ron is probably gonna get me for posting these before he gets a chance to post his, but what can I say. It was nice be out with the camera and any chance you get a chance to hang out with your dad and do something you like to do together makes for a good time. Hope you all enjoy my weekend lilies.
