Still more "Dunno" flowers...

More silly "Dunno" flowers, will it ever end?

I'm thinking it's time to get out and take some action pictures or something!

The much maligned Buttercup...

...second only to the Dandelion. How could such an innocent little flower cause such a ruckus!

Just a cloud

I'm daydreaming again.

I'm in need of some island time I think.

The original "Tree Hugger"

This smart young bear didn't want any part of playing with my dogs and promptly climbed about 20 feet up a tree to wait the dogs out. After taking a few pictures I gathered the dogs up and we continued our walk. Sure enough the young bear was long gone when we came back through the same area on our way back to the truck.

Not a dunno flower...

For once I have a plant name to go with my pictures!

Found these nice little "Bleeding Heart" flowers in an overgrown garden. Here are two of the better focused pictures...

I try for a focused flower and a blurred background so the aperture setting has to be just right and you have to pick your focus points carefully to get as much of the flower in focus as possible.

Say Ahhhhhhh...

I thought I would stay with Paul's flower theme today.

Mainly because flowers are the only thing I've had time to photograph lately.

I'm told this is some type of antique variety of an iris. I just know they are growing along the bank of my pond so I didn't have to go far to get the photos!

A flower for "Papa"

Of course it goes without saying that this is the most beautiful flower that there ever was!

More beautiful dunno flowers!

These beautiful dunno flowers got in front of my lens a couple of days ago so I just had to take their pictures...

Q's Bridge

I'm pretty sure that isn't the real name of this bridge but that's how I know it.

I really wanted to go stand in the middle of the street and take a shot looking right down the center of this bridge (it would have looked really cool with the fisheye lens) but Q kept telling me there was too much traffic.

I think he just wanted to keep me from getting that shot! LOL

A couple of Eagle pictures...

Final approach for landing, full flaps, landing gear down...

This Eagle stood there a long time looking at the dead Sea Lion, I'm thinking he didn't quite know where to start!

Dealey Plaza

This is a shot looking down the road in the direction the motorcade was traveling. They actually have X's on road marking the spots where the two shots hit Kennedy.

This is a shot of the School Book Depository and the window all of the shots supposedly came from.

The red and white streaks in the photos are from vehicles driving by during the long exposures I was taking.

Where there's smoke there's fire!

Oh oh, black smoke over by the fuel dock on the far side of Hardy Bay!

Sure enough it's a boat on fire, hope everyone is alright.

Turns out all three fellows on board had been rescued , eventually the fire was brought under control and the boat was allowed to sink.

This could have been a much worse situation as the boat was on fire right between the fuel dock on the one side and the bulk fuel unloading facility on the other.

The Grassy Knoll

Over the years I have looked at lots of documents, read magazine and newspaper articles and watched countless documentaries on the assassination of John F. Kennedy. I can't count the times I have been in Dallas and with all of that, I had never actually visited Dealey Plaza, the site of the assassination.

On our trip to Texas this past weekend we (my wife and I) stopped in to see Q and his family. After treating us to a nice sushi dinner Q was kind enough to play tour guide and take us to Dealey Plaza.

After seeing it in videos and photos I always thought it was a much larger area. From a sniper's point of view this is an extremely confined space with the route bottle-necking right into the point where the shots were fired.

I, being the opinionated old fart that I am, have my own theory as to how many shooters there were and that opinion was made even stronger once I visited this place.

I won't bore you with my theory but I will say that I was surprised by the fact that even now, people still come to this spot to see it. We were there about 10:00 p.m. and there were several people walking around, taking photos and looking behind the area of the grassy knoll.

Convoy of tankers!

This was the scene in Coal Harbour a few days ago. 8 full size tankers pulled into town to meet a large boat full of salmon from one of the local fish farms. First time I've seen them use tankers to haul fish and not the usual refer trucks...

Cool Change

I was born in the sign of water and it's there that I feel my best
The albatross and the whales they are my brothers

It's kind of a special feeling when you're out on the sea alone
Staring at the full moon like a lover

Lyrics from the Little River Band's song "Cool Change"

Scenes from Hardy Bay

Some random scenes from Hardy Bay on a nice bright Spring day!
