Good morning Professor, and yes you have spotted some very handsome ones shown in these pictures. The colorful rock in the second pic would make a great conservation piece along with it's good looks in a rock garden.
As far as to their identity I haven't a clue. Nature photos seem to have a way of bringing up more questions than answers. Stirs the gray matter!
I have no idea about rocks and minerals much but I know how to spot pretty ones... LOL
