Actually only one has a red tail. Pretty sure the other one is a juvenile.
Just for the fun of it I have posted the processed in Photoshop RAW image (above) and the as shot JPEG (below). Both pictures are about a 30% crop out of a larger picture.
Great photo. I like to shoot in RAW also, but find it looks the same as jpeg unless the picture needs a good amount of manipulation. This looks wonderful SOOC.

Your JPEG version seems to show more color than the RAW version but you are going to have a lot more options for post processing in RAW and in the end, I think you would have a better photo than just shooting the JPEG. It all depends on how much post processing you are willing to do.
Nice shot! If you shoot these birds on the D800E camera 36-MGP with 30% crop factor, the result will blow your mind. So, who needs the 400mm or 600mm lens anymore!

I have done a bit of math and as far as I can figure I could use my 120-400mm at 400mm on the D800 and if I cropped till I got to a 12Mp picture I would effectively have a 360-1200mm lens at 12mp!
By that same bit of logic the Hawk pictures being cropped to 30% of the original are roughly 4mp pictures.
