This was taken hand held along the road to Hana on Maui. I was trying to get that silky water you get with a slow shutter speed but I couldn't slow it down too much because I didn't have my tripod.
I tried some slow shutter speed shots last trip to Hawaii but everything is so bright there during the day that my results were less than spectacular. A tripod and ND filter would have been the answer I think.
No ND filters yet... I'm waiting until all my lenses use 77mm filters. The Sigma 10-20 and Sigma 120-400 are 77mm already, just need the Nikon 28-300 lens and a D800 then I can start looking at filters! LOL
What a beautiful lush scene!

I know you have a tripod but did you ever break down and buy any ND filters?

ReplyDeleteWhat a magnificent waterfall and scenery. It looks like a painting or it should be one! Nice shot! =)
ReplyDeleteNicely captured. All that fresh water while being surrounded with salt water! A mystery to me!
ReplyDeleteWOW! Nice shot for hand held, If you could repeat the same result like this everytime, I don't think you going to need a tripod.
ReplyDeleteThanks Q but it took me 8 shots just to get a good one so next time I will have a tripod!
