I went out in hopes of capturing a meteor from the Persied meteor shower this weekend again. But again no luck. I did take another photo of the old cabin from a different perspective. I was able to get more of the Milky Way in the photo by using the Sigma 10-20mm wide angle lens. I did end up with a few star trail pictures from setting the camera up to continuously take photos.
I this star trail picture the stars look to be going in different directions due to my latitude, the angle of view of the northern star and how the earth rotates in the celestial sphere. Different latitudes will give you different patterns for the stars. The camera was pointed to the south west.
I was able to capture a few star trail reflections in the pond in the photo. The northern star is in top left of this image making for a circular pattern of the stars. The camera was pointed off center to the north east.
perfect title for that brilliant first shot!!!
ReplyDeleteWoW! Like these a lot! Busy skies up your way!
ReplyDeleteThe cabin shot is really cool! I like the other two star trail photos too but the cabin is the money shot.
ReplyDeleteI like all of them, and nice work Aaron. It tooks me about couple years to get my night photography near as good as yours. Like I said can't teach the old dog!
ReplyDeleteYou can teach the old dog but the old dog enjoys his sleep more than the young dog does. LOL
ReplyDeleteAaron that first picture is a masterpiece, really like the other two shots also but that first shot is definitely the show stopper!
