More from the Big Island

This is called Rainbow Falls, for obvious reasons. You have to get there in the morning early to catch the sun at the proper angle or Rainbow Falls is just "Falls".

Rainbow Falls is located in the town of Hilo and is very easy to get to. I like it when I don't have to walk far!

There's something about the dark...

You can't go to the Big Island without going to see the volcano. It's pretty impressive during the day with the steam vents but it's even better at night when you can see the glow from the lava.

Aloha from the Big Island!

I've been wanting to go the the Big Island and  do a night swim with the manta rays for years and I finally took the time and went last week. It was absolutely amazing! I highly recommend it to anybody not scared to get in the ocean at night.

White specks in photo. Bad image sensor?

Hi Ron and Quynh

I need your expert opinions!

So today I was out taking pictures around the waterfront using my Wife's camera. I'm hoping I haven't broken it. I'm thinking the sensor might be burning out due to the many white specks showing up mainly in the darker areas of the photos.

Any thoughts?

More Sun!

Another picture of the Sun. This was taken about 10:30 am a couple of days ago, see how low the Sun is on the horizon!

Sunshine again!

Two weeks ago the snow on this road was two feet deep! Finally the rain came and washed most of it away and now the sun is here to melt the last of it...

Though Northern Vancouver Island is a beautiful place the winters here can be daunting with weeks and sometimes months of endless rain and overcast skies... It sure is nice though when the sun comes back!

It never snows here!

Quatse Lake Water Treatment Plant

It never snows here on Vancouver Island, or at least it didn't for three Winters in a row... Then this year it just won't quit! It started a couple of weeks before Christmas and hasn't warmed up enough to rain ever since. More snow in the forecast tonight.
