With all the rain we have been getting I decide to go check out the lake last night and see if there was anything interesting to take photos of. Lots of flood water but that was about it. I did stick around for the sunset though. It turned out pretty good. Hope you enjoy.

Honu
As usual I haven't had time to take any new photos. Well, I take that back. This past weekend I had some time but I literally took four photos and then I sprained my wrist and couldn't lift my camera after that.
I guess it was meant to be that you get more photos of turtles from Maui!

More Young Eagles in flight
Today's pictures and the two previous Young Eagles in flight pictures from a couple of days ago were all shot handheld using the Sigma 120-400mm lens at various focal lengths with the aperture at f8.

Lupine and Scotch Broom
On Vancouver Island Lupine and Scotch Broom both come into bloom about the same time each year and are often found together along roadsides and open tracts of land.

Got Dramamine?
Things around here have been very hectic the last couple of weeks and it appears that they will stay that way for the next several weeks. Because of that I haven't been able to get out and take any photos.
It has made me think of Hawai'i a lot, it doesn't take much you know, but I really do need a vacation and Maui always comes to mind when I think about a vacation. With that said, I thought a little underwater video would give you something to look at, or make you sea sick. One of these days I will learn to put music with my videos, providing I'm smart enough to figure out how.
This was shot in the waters off Olowalu Beach on Maui with the GoPro Hero 4 as I was swimming through the large coral heads about 200 yards off shore.

Here kitty kitty...
Over the years we've seen Bears, Deer, Otters, Salmon, Owls, Eagles and numerous other types of birds in out yard... Then today for the first time we had a Cougar come to visit! Fortunately my camera was close by and I managed to get a few good shots before it disappeared into the woods.

Tiny bubbles
And a couple of waves.
I shot these with the GoPro one evening just playing around in the water. Next time I hope to get into some bigger shore breaks so I can get inside some waves and take photos.

Relaxing in the sun...
You know a Deer is feeling pretty safe and relaxed when they'll lie down. I found this doe relaxing in the sun a few mornings ago. She didn't even get up when I stopped to take a few pictures!

A Change in Perspective
Flames on the Water
Flames on the Water
While in Hawaii I was on the look out for things I wouldn't generally photograph. Here are two examples. (Above) While waiting for our whale tour to leave early in the morning we were treated to a very colorful sun rise at the harbor. I took a few photos of the sunrise but what caught my eye was the color and texture on the water it was creating. (Below) While on the whale tour the sun was creating what I like to call "Ocean Diamonds." The water was fairly calm while on the tour and created the gentle ripples and the sun sparkled across the surface.

Sunny's Winston Churchill impersonation...
"We shall defend our Island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills.
We shall never surrender!"
Winston Churchill
And this is Buster laughing his tail off at Sunny for being such a goof!

Stumped...
When I spotted this old stump hanging off a rock cliff I knew there was a picture that needed to be taken but couldn't figure out how to get the camera how to see what I was seeing until I tried the camera's B&W setting. "Voila" as they say, that did the trick!
