A favorite thing to do at the end of the day while visiting the Islands is to go down to the shore and watch the sun set (with the camera along just in case...).
This is about 25% of a much larger picture shot handheld at 400mm (Sorry Q didn't bring the tripod to Hawaii).
Paul this is an amazing photo. It seems if one can see the curvature of the earth with the ocean vessel about to drop off the edge with the sun! Water, boat, sun and horizon; each distinctly separated but yet all coming together at the same time to form this image. Just a wonderful photo opp!
ReplyDeleteGreat timing!
ReplyDeletei agree with Randy - great timing!
ReplyDeleteVery nice shot! And like everyone else said, perfect timing. The boat is centered to the sun just like you placed it there. I'm guessing you took more than one shot of this?
ReplyDeleteNo tripod??? Even I'm going to take a tripod to Hawaii! LOL
Oh my goodness! This one is amazing to look at. Like Randy said- Great timing! =)
ReplyDeleteRon I did take about a dozen pictures as the tug moved past the sun. I couldn't see for sure what I had until I got home. This was the best of the bunch.
ReplyDeleteThank you all for the nice comments on this picture.
Excellent juxtaposition and timing with your long lens Paul. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWOW! I love everything in this shot. Good job!
