Unknown Critter

I found myself at the top of a mountain yesterday, don't ask me why because I should know better since it was 25 degrees outside with a 30 mph wind, but there I was and here came this critter running across the ice covered rocks.

I'm a pretty good quick draw but working with a camera that fast almost made me miss the shot. I got off three shots before he was out of sight and this was the only one that was in focus. I guess it's time to upgrade to a faster focusing camera!

  1. Now what kind of critter is that?!! Can't say as I have ever seen anything quite like this before.

Good shooting by the way! Not easy to get a good clear shot of a moving target.

  2. Ron this is one nice shot. This is a ringtail! Nocturnal and seldom seen in daylight. Have seen a few in early morning but most by flashlight. You hear them more than see them. All that I have ever came in contact with were in the Texas Hill Country and Brush Country. I didn't even know they were in SW oklahoma. Wonderful find!!! thanks mp
