Took several pictures of this scene a couple of weeks ago but was unable to get both the moon and the antenna tower in focus. Normally you can use a small aperture (f16 to f22) to get more of the picture in focus but cameras have problems focusing at night while using small apertures... What to do?
In the end I took two pictures one with the moon in focus and one with the antenna tower in focus and used Photoshop to cut and paste the pictures together!
I would do the same thing like you did if I can't focus the antenna. Did you try to do manual focusing, and spot metering of the Moon?
ReplyDeleteYou did a good job with photoshop. I couldn't even tell it had been "shopped".
ReplyDeleteLove the title by the way!
Q I tried manual focusing but was still having problems getting both in focus.
ReplyDeleteDidn't try spot metering the moon though... Probably way easier than adjusting the exposure compensation. I'll have to try that next time. Thanks for the feedback!
ha ha. great trickery. :)
ReplyDeleteWow Paul. I really like this. Great catch(es)!
ReplyDeleteLike your concept for this pic! Wonderful job pulling all the pieces together!
