Several times over the years I've seen a lone deer swiming from one island to another, but never had a camera with me at the time.

This time I had my camera and saw 2 bucks and a doe heading across the inlet. Where they were crossing was 3/4 of a mile from shore to shore.

Deer swim suprisingly well! I don't think I could have kept up had I been in the water swiming with them.
I don't think I have ever heard of deer swimming. As skinny as their legs and hoofs are you wouldn't think they could move very much water.
ReplyDeleteThese are some good shots and a testiment as to why you should always have a camera with you.
