Dragging for Hake in Hardy Bay. (Grainy crop of a much larger picture...)
"Dragging" is a method of fishing for bottom fish by dragging a large open mouthed net across the ocean floor. "Hake" are the target species of fish these days.

That's interesting. I've got two questions; how do you pronounce the name and what do they use the fish for. I don't know that I have ever heard of a Hake before?
ReplyDeleteThe boat is pronounced drag-er I guess because it drags a net to catch fish.
DeleteHake are a type of Cod fish and the fillets of it are sold as food.
