HAY!

Just wanted to see if you were paying attention. LOL

I had to make a quick run to southwest Oklahoma yesterday and I saw these hay bales in a field on my way down. The light wasn't right on the way there but on my way back it was better so I stopped and took a couple of photos. I was surprised they were already cutting the fields. Of course they probably ought to get it while they can, it was 101 yesterday while I was there.

  1. we're waiting to get ours done, but the smaller fields always have to wait until the crews are done w/ the large ones. but i just love that sight!

I've noticed a lot of haying going on around here also.
Seems like everybody did pretty good on this first cutting!

    1. I talked to Mark yesterday morning during my drive down and they are in Camp Doris for all of this week. You ought to head down and spend a few days.

  4. Nice find, your picture looks good in B&W too! 101° that's kind of warm for beginning of May even down your way isn't it?

There is a bit of haying goes on here on Vancouver Island... They cut and roll it just the same as your picture then at some point the whole roll gets sealed into a large white plastic bag. Looks like a whole field full of great big marshmallows!

    1. Yes Paul, 101 this early is a little strange but I cool front came in last night that dropped the temps by about 25 degrees.

A lot of the ranchers here in Kansas use the "giant marshmellow" way of wrapping the hay too. I would think that it would rot being sealed up like that but apparently not.
