Tourists
I guess I'm old fashioned, or maybe just old, but I was astounded by the number of people taking photos with their cell phones as a momento of their trip to Hawaii. I know you don't have to spend thousands of dollars on a camera to get a good photo (well, maybe) and I know lots of people that don't even take photos, opting to keep their memories in their head instead of in a picture, but what are poeple thinking with cell phone cameras at night and 100 feet away from their subject? I've got a phone with a really nice camera on it and I know it won't get the kind of shot I want.
Is it just me? Old fashioned and finicky about my photos? Hmmmm...

if i was on vacation, i'd want an actual camera to take photos. i've certainly been known to use my cell on errands and road trips, however.
ReplyDeleteNothing wrong with that Tex, but I'm with you, if you go on vacation, especially a place like Hawaii, you take an actual camera.
DeleteI must agree with you two.
ReplyDeleteSure do like this picture!
ReplyDeleteNo substitute for a good camera especially when on holiday! Cell phone cameras are good for "snapshots" but not much else. Just my .02¢
Gotta share this...when we lived in Hawaii we had friends come visit...my friend has the Nikon D90 and she left it at HOME....said she wanted me to take the photos of HER vacation! Plus she told me what to take photos of!!! Interesting:/ Yes, we're still friends and she was happy with my shots. :)
ReplyDeleteLOL! My wife does that. When we go somewhere I ask her if she is going to take her camera and she always tells me no and then when we get there she starts telling me what she wants photos of. The last trip I just gave her my point and shoot and let her take her own photos!
DeleteI rarely use my phone; it takes terrible photos. I agree with you!!
