We finally got a little rain last night. It wasn't much but it did drop the temperatures a little. It's only supposed to be 95 degrees today. Back in the hundreds tomorrow but for today, a little relief.
There's actually a portion of two rainbows in this photo. You have to look really hard to see them but there wasn't much light out this morning when I took this photo and the rainbows were disappearing the longer I waited.
We were blessed with a half inch of rain over night. I haven't had a chance to post my cloud shots from last night, we haven't had clouds in the sky for so long I kinda forgot what they looked like. LOL
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful shot.
Thanks Val! A half inch is probably just about what we got too although we could have used about ten inches! We've had clouds several times but no rain. This may be it until September the way the weather man is talking.
DeleteI see the rainbows, and the red roof of the little house at the edge of the treeline. The dark rain clouds cap the shot wonderfully!
ReplyDeleteThe red roof is on the cabin down by our ponds. Well, they are kind of holes in the ground with a little mud and water right now but they used to be ponds! LOL
DeleteRain is good! By the sounds of it your hot dry Summer is going to be a real disaster for allot of farmers...
ReplyDeleteLooks like a real nice place you have there, great view, the clouds add a real depth to this picture!
They've already declared a lot of the area around us a disaster so that the farmers can get federal aid for the failed crops. I can tell you that anything to do with corn is probably going to be more expensive this fall/winter and the soy beans aren't looking much better. Get ready for some prices to go up on certain things.
Deletecongrats on a bit of respite!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that you got some rain in your area, and I can see the rainbow in this picture. Also, I like the colors in this picture, you have to tell me how you do that. It's a test question! LOL.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I have an idea how to shoot the hummingbird while sitting in your living room. If you have a cordless remote for your D700, you can setup your camera closer to the hummingbird feeder, and shoot with your 80-200mm. But, you need to set your focus to manual on your camera, and the lens.
A test?? I hate tests! LOL
DeleteQ, I do have a wireless remote for the D700 (and one that is wired) and now you're starting to think like a lazy old fat man like me, sitting in the AC having a drink and pushing a button to get a picture outside. I like it!!
