Good morning! I actually got out of bed before sunrise this morning to go take these photos. Even if you don't like the photos you have to be impressed with the fact that I got up a O-dark-thirty just to take a photo. LOL
I've been telling myself I needed to take these photos for about a month now and the dogs woke me up very early this morning so I figured I would just get out of bed and go see what I could get.
I would say your early morning efforts were rewarded. Wonderful pics! Sun reflecting from the sides of that fast moving train adds to the feel of motion. Well shot and processed!
ReplyDeleteO-dark-thirty... LOL Funny guy!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Parker, your early morning escapades were well worth it, these both came out great! The light at the far end of the tracks in the top photo, is that the sunrise or the train headlight?
It's funny that you would ask that Paul. My original intention for getting up early and getting this shot was because I thought the sun would rise real close to right on top of the tracks. It didn't work out that way though. The sun was quite a bit off to the left in the photo so that is a train coming down the tracks that is making the light.
DeleteI thought about staying on the tracks a little longer and getting the light bigger but I didn't want to give the train engineer a heart attack and I figured Aaron would tattle to Cheryl that I was standing in the middle of the tracks when a train was coming. LOL
Oh these are fabulous!! Look what you've been missing, LOL Did you do any post processing with these shots or are they "raw"?
ReplyDeleteI was up early, but not with the camera, lots of goodies in the garden to harvest. Seemed a bit cooler this a.m.
Hello Val! It was cooler this morning, in the low 70's here. It was very nice. Of course it's almost 90 now at 10:30 a.m. and headed for 105 today. Cool or not, I think I like sunset photos better! LOL
DeleteI almost always do a little post processing on my photos Val, more on some than others but I almost always tweak something, even if it's just putting on a frame.
The first photo is actually an HDR image made from five bracketed shots and processed in the NIK software. The second photo is just a long shutter shot and I added a little saturation to the colors to bring up more of the golden glow on the train.
Both were shot with a Nikon 17-35mm lens, the top photo at f11 and 35mm and the bottom photo at f7.1 and 35mm.
yup, i'd say the dogs had the right idea! really nice!
ReplyDeleteWonderful shots and color.
ReplyDeleteA great reward for being early bird. I think it takes a lot of efforts just for few shots. Sometime in the past, I arrived at the location 2 hours before the Sunrise just for one shot. This is something we going to do in Kauai if you are up to it Ron.
ReplyDeleteYou want me to get up early on vacation?? LOL
DeleteAs long as we don't do it every day I'm game. I do need my beauty sleep you know! :~)
