Actually not B&W! After I got the picture onto the computer I tried a number of things to improve on it. In the end I sharpened it up barely and straightened it slightly. Other than that it is as shot out of the camera.
One thing to note: In order to get the camera to photograph what my eye was seeing I had to set the exposure down to -2.0 for this shot.
That's great! I never would have thought about doing that. Now that I've gone back and looked at the photo I can see some green in the trees. That's pretty cool. I'm impressed!
Just a lucky shot I can assure you! Like the old newspaper reporter said to his junior when asked how he managed to come up with so many interesting pictures over the years... "f8 and be there"!
