1961 Plymouth Fury
Spotted this beauty from two blocks away. Like a magnate she drew me over to have a better look. Not often one gets a chance to admire a Detroit Lady like this one!
Gangster Whites and Chrome Lake Pipes
Powered by a SonoRamic Commando engine this babe could really purr. She lived in the fast lane! Top speed over One Hundred Twenty! Cruised easily at a Hundred and went from 0 to 60mph in 7.5 seconds! No grass grew under her stylish white shoes!
Pilot's Command Center
All the buttons, knobs and controls were at arms reach. Took a square steering wheel to control this animal. She must have been part Cheetah by the looks of the door panel and interior!
Bullet Styled
Suppose one could call this her Tube of Lipstick styled taillight? But at any rate, it was sure shiny and reflected well. Even reflecting it's self in the mirror finish of her chrome bumper!
holy moly, that's some hot pink!
ReplyDeleteMary Kay ain't got nothing on that Plymouth's pink color!
DeleteI see a photographer in that reflection!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Tex, that's some pink. I think you would have to wear sunglasses just to sit inside. I don't think I've ever seen a square steering wheel before. Nice find!
I was wondering if anyone would catch that reflection. You Win! What I don't know, but you Win!
DeleteExcellent !

Thanks Pierre! Happy to see your visits and comments to Shutterbugs!
DeleteA Plymouth Fury... What a great find Parker, nice selection of photos and as always love your commentary!
ReplyDeleteStirs up memories of my first car, a "68" Fury II It was HUGE I mean wider and longer than my 3/4 ton pickup huge...
Huge car indeed, but they sure had a nice ride. I think you could get about as much stuff in the trunk as in the bed of a pickup. Those big luxury cars were sure nice for Road Trips! Carry the whole gang and the neighbor kids too!
DeleteSweet ride!
