No big storm yet. Maybe they'll be wrong this time. It wouldn't hurt my feelings at all if they were wrong.
Here I am wind surfing on Maui during warmer times. Yea, right! LOL
I don't think I would have the energy to hold up the sail much less ride a wave with it. We watched these guys for more than an hour riding in some very strong winds, 25-30 mph winds to be exact. I don't know how they held onto the windsurfer. It must be an age thing.
So far so good around these parts also. The talking heads on TV are still trying to scare everyone by predicting the rain will turn to blizzard snow today. My prediction= 50-50 chance it either will or want!LOL
ReplyDeleteLooks like those guys are having fun. Don't know about the age thing as I have seen some pretty old guys wind surfing at Lake Hefner. But will say they all seemed to be in top shape! I didn't even try to take pics like you did; fraid I would dislocate a joint or pull a muscle just trying!LOL
I'm going with it's an age thing. That sounds better than saying I'm too fat and out of shape to do it! LOL
DeleteThey've been predicting blizzard conditions here too but it was supposed to start just after midnight last night and we haven't even got a drop of rain yet. I'm not too worried about more snow. It's the freezing rain and sleet I don't want. I prefer to have power than not although we are prepared for having no power for a while if need be.
i certainly wouldn't have the upper body strength to even stand still. :)
ReplyDeleteBig waves, great shot!
ReplyDeleteCount me out too... I tried boogie boarding once and couldn't even do that worth beans! I'm thinking it's probably best us "old guys" stick to the photography aspect of these sports.
I don't know Paul. I told Cheryl that if I get in shape this summer (other than round) then I'm going to take some surfing lessons next trip. I may regret it but it looks like fun.
DeleteTurn me loose with dive gear no problem, I'll leave the surfing to you!
DeleteI have tried surfing once before in Kauai. You don't have to be in a good shape, unless you catching a big wave. Actually, it's a fun thing to do if you can stay on the board. The most important thing is that know how to catch the wave, and keep it low in center gravity. If I can do it, anybody can.
DeleteMight be hope for me yet... Ha ha!
