26" Ride!
Upon first look the rusty ride seems to be 'Worse for Wear'! But taking a closer look, this stripped down riding machine has great potential! A little motor oil on the chain and sprocket, two used tires and tubes along with my baseball glove for a seat cushion! This kid from Oklahoma in his younger days would have had those Super Cool two foot black leather streamers waving in the wind! A new adventure around every corner!
Do I detect a note of nostalgia in your description?! I wonder how old we are when we begin to think about the past, esp the times when we enjoyed fun and freedom? Bicycles used to be such a source of joy and was my own first taste of freedom and adventure.
ReplyDeletePerceptive you are! Goodness! Have I reached that stage at a mere 67? In defense I must say a spirited bike ride keeps the mind focused while freedom and adventure is just a pedal away! Fun and Freedom......Pedal Hard!
Deletemade me smile! :)
ReplyDeleteAlways a good thing to keep our neighbor on the south side of the Red River, Happy!
DeleteNice find and good capture!
ReplyDeleteVery classic lines on this old ride you've found, a bit of T.L.C. and it would probably be good for another generation or two of young explorers...
Thanks Paul! Thought you might get kick out of this old rusty ride!
DeleteMarvelous composition Parker.
ReplyDeleteWe need to find you one of these vintage rides! Put a basket to carry your school books plus your camera? Santa Fe would never be the same!
DeleteDon't forget about putting a playing card on the spokes so it makes noise while you're riding it!
ReplyDeleteMakes a great motor sound. I was always getting in trouble with Mother for taking her clothespins to attach the cards.
DeleteThis bike remind me seeing those tourist ride down the mountain with this similar pike. Thanks to take me back 40 years ago.
