If I had to make a guess I would say it probably is some type of heirloom bush. There are several here on the property in a few different colors and they were all planted at least 20 years ago.
I've got some shots I took last weekend with the D800 and the 105mm. I'll get them up in a couple of days. I was switching back and forth between the 105mm and the 28-300mm. The wind was blowing so much it was hard to keep the focus right on the 105mm, it's very sensitive to any distance change at all.
That's exactly the kind of thing that makes you a great photographer and me an average photographer. I don't think of things like that, I just try to do it the hard way.
Also, make you a box with 3 dimension on 4 piece white cardboard, and painted on the back from inside with black paint as your black background. To save time, next time you go to the post office, just ask them some of those mail baskets.
Eyecatching rose, good captures despite the windy conditions you were shooting in! Excellent information from Q on black and white cardboard. Thank you Q!
Attractive variety of this red rose. Wondering if it's an heirloom bush from the past?

ReplyDeletelove the deep color!
ReplyDeletevery sharp, and I love the Red color. Have you try the 105mm with D800, and crop the image for the closeup shot?

DeleteI usually use a $3.00 white cardboard to block the wind, and as a reflector.
