Line 'em up!

I posted a shot of this forest a couple of years ago that I had taken with a Nikon D300 and a Tamron lens. This is the same shot but taken with the Nikon D800 and a Nikon lens. 36mp really brings out the detail!

This is 6 bracketed shots put together to form one shot.

Paul suggested that I post the first shot I took a couple of years ago for comparison. Thank you Paul, I don't know why I didn't think of that, I must be getting old! Here's the shot I took in July 2010 with the D300.

  1. Great details picture. The colors processing on the D800 is pretty impressive compared with the D3X. Also, it helps when you using the Nikon lens. Since, you got your 200-400mm, are you going to stalking the humming bird that we shot last summer? By the way, you need to investing on more flashes to freeze the wings. LOL.

  2. I haven't got a 200-400mm yet. That's on my list for next year. I'm looking at the 500mm or 600mm this year. I'm still waiting for a deal. My gimbal head arrived yesterday so now I need a really good lens to put on it!

I will be stalking the hummingbirds this summer. More flashes huh? I was thinking more along the lines of a D4. LOL

  3. One of these days we should go find and visit the bois d arc planting that is located south of the Jobs Corp. I've heard it's not as large but laid out like the cedars. Might make an interesting pic to go with the nice ones you have of the cedars.

    1. Sounds good to me Parker. Now all we have to do is find a time when we both can get away together.

  4. I recall you posting this forest picture before, interesting the geometry of the place. This 6 photograph HDR photo came out beautifully! You should post your original photo with this one for comparison.
