Well sort of. This is a shot of the solar eclipse yesterday. I thought I was going to miss out but as the eclipse started the clouds broke. Kind of glad they stuck around to add a little texture to the shot. I used a ND1000 filter to prevent damage to the camera's sensor and to be able to see the eclipse. I also didn't keep my camera pointed at the sun very long to make sure I wasn't going to do any damage. This was at the beginning of the eclipse the clouds returned before it was at its peak so this is the only good shot I got.
The clouds make it a very unusual photo; part of the image appears to look like a giant eye.
ReplyDeleteGlad your weather smartened up long enough for you to get a few shots of the eclipse!
ReplyDeleteA sure fire way to make it get cloudy over here on the Coast is to have an Eclipse, a Meteor Shower or Northern Lights... Sure enough this latest Eclipse was no exception!
Oh yeah and getting out a paint brush around here on a sunny day is definitely a recipe for rain... Ha ha!
Splendid shot - I think the presence of the clouds adds real depth and interest.
ReplyDeleteSuch an interesting thing to observe.

Super image Aaron, I agree with Kate, an eye with a teardrop !
ReplyDeleteI think it's a great shot! The clouds definitely add to the shot. I love the textures and 3D feel.
ReplyDeleteWell done!
