These were taken along a reef in Honokowai using a Nikon D300 and 24mm lens in an Ikelite housing. The reef is just under the sruface in about four feet of water during high tide.
A sunrsie swim with the turtles. I think the light reflecting off my bald head was scaring them away!
A sunrise swim? Isn't that a little out of character for you? Ha ha!
ReplyDeleteYou are sure getting some nice results with your camera, lens combo in the Ikelite housing.
Normally I would say yes, getting up early is something I only do when absolutely necessary but for some reason, when I'm in Hawaii I never sleep later than about 6:00 a.m. and I'm usually up around 4:30 or 5:00. I think the time change throws me off.
ReplyDeleteThe next trip I'll be using the D700 in the housing (it was actually designed for the D700) instead of the D300 and I've added a flash so I'm hoping to see some better results.
oh, that last shot is wonderful! :)
ReplyDeleteUp at sunrise and swimming with the fish makes for a nice start to the day. Nice light in the last shot.
ReplyDeleteI have to give Cheryl the credit for the last shot. She was using the P7700, that camera I never see anymore! LOL
DeleteThought she might have been the photographer behind that shot. Her and the P7700 always seems to capture a good pic!
