I invested in a new lens last week so Aaron and I took some time this weekend to test it out. This was shot just as the sun was setting below the horizon with the orange and pink reflecting off the water from the sky. Can you see the dragon fly?
This was taken about mid afternoon with the same lens in bright sunlight. The photo is cropped about 30%.
More on the new lens in a couple of days. It's a surprise!
I think I see the dragon fly in the upper right hand portion of the picture but it's not in focus.
ReplyDeleteNew lens eh? And you're not telling... Hmm, If I were Ron what lens would I buy next? I'm going to say you got yourself a Nikon 200-400mm f/4 zoom.
The dragon fly is on the small bud to the right and below of the big bud in the center of the photo.
DeleteThat's a good guess Paul but no cigar! I'm going to take a few more photos with the new lens and post them before I give it away.
I have to get out my wide angle lens just to take a photo of the new lens. LOL
Unusual colors in the lily pad shot. I think I see two dragon flys? The one that Paul spotted and one sitting on the short stem and bud next to the tall one in the center of the pic.
ReplyDeleteNew lens? Your arsenal just keeps growing!
I'd say the arsenal is getting different instead of growing. I sold a few of my other older lenses and lenses I don't use plus my old D80 to help finance the new lens. I'm starting to get a sense of what kind of photographs I want to take and I'm trying to get the specialty things I need for those photos.
DeleteBut in photography there will always be something else! LOL
like the turquoise and peach colors in the first. so pretty!
ReplyDeleteThese turned out really nice. I like the close up of the lily. Definitely need the wide angle to get a picture of your new toy.
ReplyDeleteBy looking at these pictures I think it came from a Nikon lens. LOL. Are these lily from your pond?
ReplyDeleteThat's a good guess Q. LOL Yes, the lilies on are on the big pond that has the bridge going across it.
