Turkeys and more turkeys

We had a group of wild turkeys come through this afternoon which gave me a chance to try out the new 18-250mm lens. This group had four different toms in it and I was able to catch three of them while they were all puffed out at the same time. Number four is just coming into the frame on the left side.

  1. I like your spooky moon picture, the clouds almost look like someone poured coloured ink into dark water! Nice shot getting 3 Toms with their feathers out and all! From what I can see that new lens does a nice job too! How far out were you zoomed?

  2. This photo was shot at the full 250 zoom. The lens seems to take really nice photos. The only complaint I have so far is the zoom dampening. If you point the camera down without the lens lock on the lens will slide out to the full zoom position. It's not really that big of a deal but you just have to remember it does that or put the lock on when you are walking.

  3. Yeah my Tamron 18-200 does the same thing... After using the lens for a few days it will just become automatic to flick the lock on or off as you go to take a shot. From what I read the Nikon 18-200 will do the same thing but has no lock like the Tamron.
