I like the chain. Is that something left over from logging or something else?
This is called a "Boom Chain" (note the toggle and ring) they are used to fasten the outer logs together in rafts of logs when they are getting towed by a tug boat. Each chain is a standard 7 feet long and weighs 65 pounds when new.
