The Last Chief of the Comanches

I guess we have a little bit of history going on here so I will add some more to it. These photos are of the house where Quanah Parker, the "last Chief of the Comanches" lived with his wives. Yes, that was meant to be plural!
This house, like Frank James' house, was bought and moved to the same amusement park in Oklahoma. As with Frank's house, this one also sits, just slowly rotting away since the park was closed. I was lucky enough to have a friend who knew the owner of the park and he allowed us in to take some photos of the buildings. I think he was as old as some of the buildings! The owner has since past away and the future of the buildings appear to be in limbo.

  1. It sure is a darn shame to see treasures like these houses rot away. The story is the same everywhere, everyone thinks they should be saved but no one is willing to put their money or time where their mouth is.
