Working for the shot

I took this photo about three years ago on top of a mountain just outside of Phoenix, AZ. It took me about an hour and a half to get to the top of the mountain and I will be the first to admit that I wasn't climbing the mountain to get this picture.

I'm not sure I understand why anybody climbs a mountain for fun!

  1. I'll bet you wish you had brought oxygen tanks along too! LOL
I have to agree with you, just because it's there doesn't mean you have to climb it!

Nice vista you captured, looks good in B&W too!

  2. A wonderful view of a Desert Valley!

B&W captures the feel of the desert. Dry, Hot, Sun scorched! The pic says it all.

Sometimes a view from the top makes the climb worth the trip!

  5. Ron are you taking your Sigma 150-500 with you on your upcoming trip?

All the camera gear I took this last trip weighed out at 18 lbs. including the flipside 300 backpack. I wound up with a sore back a couple of times but the pictures I got were worth the trouble.

  6. Paul, I'm taking just about everything, including a tripod!

I'll have all three of my lenses for the D300 plus my underwater camera and a point and shoot so hopefully I won't miss a thing!
