This is what the sign read as the lead rider approached the summit of Mt.Scott. After the long circular and sometimes extreme grade to reach the top slow would just come natural. These two guys were flying and not even breathing hard! Hats Off to youth and being in shape!

Really like the countryside around Mt. Scott from what I have seen in photographs posted by yourself and Ron.
ReplyDeleteAnd now a bicycle race up the mountain, nice photo and story to go with!
Part of the reason these young fellows are able to go blasting up the mountain and not be half dead by the time they get there is the equipment they ride... Some of these racing bicycles only weigh a few pounds! Amazing really.
Very nice shot! Having the background that you did gives the appearance of being way up there, which they are.
ReplyDeleteJust a few pounds Paul? I don't care if they weighed just a few ounces, I'm pretty sure I could never peddle a bike up a 200o foot tall incline, I'm way too old (and smart?) for that! LOL
My kids still talking about the camping trip, and specially you took us to Mt.Scott. These people are not human if they ride their bike in the heat like that. I have been trying to condition myself by walking 2 miles in the heat, and nearly die every time. I guess, when you over 40's your best friend is the couch.
