Random pictures

I've been chomping at the bit to get out and take some pictures with the new Nikon 18-300 but the weather has been overcast and rainy since Christmas. So in the mean time here are some random pictures in the rain with the new lens...

The weather forecast beginning tomorrow is for much nicer weather through the weekend... Fingers crossed!

  1. These are great. How close were you able to get to the water drops with the new lens?

    1. Good question! Just a few moments ago I laid a ruler on the floor and got to within about 8" of it with the lens zoomed out to 300mm before the camera wouldn't focus any more. In the field of view was 2.5" across the widest part of the picture.
So far this lens is exceeding my expectations! I'm hoping to get out and take a few more pictures this afternoon.

    2. Eight inches is close at 300mm! Can't wait to see more photos.

  2. It seems to me you made a good investment on tbis one. All you have to do is bring this lens to Hawaii.
