    1. LOL. That's the only reason I took the shot. Well, I wasn't thinking about Vegas dancing girls at the time, just that they were lined up. :~)

  3. Hey Ron,
Since I am relatively new to your blog, just wondering how you got your little band of photographers together to do this blog...went back a couple years to view some shots (awesome of course) but didn't see how the group was formed (maybe I missed it) after all, I just look at the pictures!!! LOL Care to share?!?!?!

    1. LOL Val! and yes, I do. Had a big glass of chocolate milk this morning :~)

The merry band of photographers on this blog have come together from different areas. Paul, Quyhn (Q) and myself all met on a photo forum about Hawaii a few years back and I have had the pleasure to meet Q and his boys in person a couple of times since we lived fairly close together at one point. (about 3 hours from each other). Q has helped us all with our photography skills, or lack there of.

I haven't met Paul in person yet but I am looking forward to either traveling to Canada in the very near future or possibly meeting up with him and his wife in Hawaii sometime. (Paul, if you are paying attention, the wife and I will be in Hawaii from Jan. 3rd -14th 2013. I'm just sayin...)

Parker is another story all together! LOL He was a regular visitor to a campgrounds I worked at for a while and we discovered we had a couple of things in common, photography and treasure hunting but only after poking each other with a stick to see who we were dealing with (treasure hunters can be slightly paranoid). We have since become very good friends and I invited him to join our group on the blog.

Aaron is my son-in-law who is just now getting into photography. I let him post on the blog so I can make fun of his pictures, I mean, so he can learn and get some experience with his camera. LOL

It was just a little bit of luck (and a love for Hawaii in some cases) that brought us all together.

    2. Cool, amazing how our interests and passions can make the world small. I do so enjoy all the photos that are posted on your blog of Merry Men!! Plus, I've even learned a thing or two. Keep up the great work. :)

    4. I echo 'Q',
Joining this blog has been a pleasure and a real
learning experience to boot! Up until Ron invited me to join
Shutterbugs I didn't even know how to post an e-mail, let alone post a pic or a comment! And Val, he still pokes with a stick and won't tell me where the Gold&Siver is buried! (I think he just wants me to dig those 'maybe it's here' holes for him!)LOL

    6. If the whole truth be known It was Ron who suggested that he and I start a little blog and post a few pictures back in 2009... At first I was a little reluctant, like Parker I hardly knew what a blog site was much less how to post anything! LOL

Just like Q and Parker I am pleased to be a part of this, the feedback and comments have been most encouraging not to mention all the great techniques Q has shared with us all!

      Jan 3rd-14th 2013 eh?

    7. Our condo is already booked! We'll being flying through Vegas this time and spending the night so the flight to Maui isn't so long. Vegas to Maui is only about 6 hours. If we do it all in one day like we normally do then we are on a plane or in airports for about 14 hours. Makes you very tired by the time you get there.
