Look waaay up!

Found a huge birds nest a few days ago while out hiking on a nearby beach. Found the bird that made it too! When you figure that a mature Bald Eagle is about 3 feet tall then the nest in this picture would have to be almost as big as a queen sized mattress give or take!
Please don't scrutinize this picture too closely, it's not about quality it's more about subject mater... LOL

  1. I just wondering how do they know the branches could support a massive nest like that. I'm sure you can find some interesting items that brought into this nest. When we were in Jackson Hole Wyoming, I have heard the local told us that they found some dog collars in the Bald Eagle nest like this.

  2. I still need to make a trip up your way just so I can get some good photos of eagles. I guess I need to go ahead and get a passport so I can do that sometime.

And yes, that is a BIG nest!

    5. Q it would take 4 or 5 days driving each way to get to Northern Vancouver Island from where you are and it would be a trip of a lifetime for you and your family! Just give the word, there are so many interesting things to see and photograph up this way!

    1. Yes I believe they do use the nests year after year. Guess I'll have to get out and take some more Eagle pictures or repost some of my older pictures.
