Shoes of Many Colors

At the start of this series my objective was to find unusual and colorful subjects to photograph. I believe this shot will qualify! These are real shoes for sale and they occupied two large walls from top to bottom of the corner booth! Hand painted and designed by the young lady occupying the booth, her buisness was brisk and I noticed girls and ladies of every age were buying. The artists helpers were replacing the sold ones with new pairs as soon as they were sold. Saw a $150.00 price tag on one pair!

Trying to decide how to photograph this scene, it finally came to me to fill the whole frame with nothing but the bright shoes, for the impact I was looking for. The Nikon 55mm/200mm lens was chosen for the job. The background of flat black, worked wonderful with the colorful shoes. This shot is one of my favorite, if not my favorite, of the series!

  1. Technicolor it is! It's fun to look over the rows and rows to see how they are painted. I wouldn't mind owning a pair. You found a wonderful topic for your theme.
