Sleeping Giants

Mount Rainier and Mount Adams are both part of the Cascade Mountain Range which extends from Northern California to Southern British Columbia. The Cascade Volcanoes are part of the Pacific Ring of Fire, the ring of volcanoes and associated mountains around the Pacific Ocean.

Got a few good view of both of these volcanic mountains while hiking up above the White Pass ski area last weekend.

  3. So magnificent standing there with the snow cover. It is easy to forget they are volcanoes just awaiting their time to become active. Who could forget Mt. St. Helens erupting in 1980! Earthquakes and volcanoes, a sometimes violent place is this land ringing the Pacific Ocean!

  4. We could use some of those snows in Texas right now! Hopefully, one of these days in the near future that I could do some hiking in this area. I like the bottom picture. Good work!
