The banana peel...

Went for a drive this afternoon just to poke around and see if I could find a picture or two that needed to be taken.
Eventually after doing several circuits of the same old places I stopped the truck at a familiar beach to eat my lunch.
After the sandwich I peeled and ate the banana and because the banana peel was bio-de-gradable I threw it out the window into the grass beside my pickup truck which is my usual "modus operandi".
Sure enough a few moments later a Seagull flies over and grabs the peel and flies out to the waters edge to eat it.
I'm watching thinking I should take a picture... But the camera is behind the seat of the truck. Eventually the Gull abandons the peel and flies away.
Then almost without warning a most magnificent  Bald Eagle swoops down just 30 feet in front of where I'm sitting and grabs the abandoned banana peel almost without touching the ground and flies away with it's prize!
So why is there no picture of this awesome creature in flight you might ask? Because my camera was behind the seat of the truck, thats why!
The moral of the story... Don't throw out your banana peel without having your camera out and ready ready! LOL

  1. LOL! Now you know what to use for bird photography. I might have to try that next time.

  3. Are you sure Santa and his sleigh didn't come by too? LOL

I hate it when that happens. It usually happens when you don't have a camera with you but to have a camera and not be able to get to it, that would be extra frustrating. Time to stock up on babanas!!
