Fuzzy Red Flower

I'm back to not knowing the names of the plants I have photographed. I don't think I want to own that many flower and plant books. LOL

  1. The contrast of the red and green colors is delightful. The fuzzy red flower seems to sparkle.

  2. I bet the bloom has been called 'fuzzy red flower' more times than it has ever been called by it's latin name! Now if I ever see one I will recognize it on sight and know what it is!LOL

  4. Beautiful flower! Is this picture from your trip to California?

A quick "Google" of "bottlebrush" flower says it is from the "Callistemon" group of plants which are native to Australia! Who would have known...

    1. I certainly didn't know.

Yes, this was taken at the San Diego zoo. It's just one of the many plants they have all over the grounds. In some cases the plants were more interesting than the animals.

  6. You didn't leave anything out from this trip, and you do know when to use your camera. Good Work!

I remember when I was young in Vietnam, if a girl find this flowers on her desk it means someone about going to ask her out for a date. Some of the boys usually leave one flower, but for me, I leave at least 4-5 on different girls so I can have better odds.
