Lake Tahoe

These pictures are from my first DSLR Nikon D70 with a kit lense 18-70mm f/3.5. I bought this camera about 6 years ago, and just couple hours before our flight to Reno. Due to lack of knowledge about DSLR, I spent 3 hours on the plane reading the manual. But, endup shooting in auto mode entire trip.
Also, I thought I'm going to pay for this camera by playing poker. But somehow I see myself at the ATM machine more than at the poker table. LOL.

  1. Sometimes the auto mode is the way to go. Lets you enjoy and capture pics of the surrondings without worrying about all the tech stuff. Otherwise, another way of ' shooting on the fly '!

  3. Nothing wrong with shooting in auto. I found myself switching to auto with the D80 numerous times because, like Parker said, it lets you enjoy the surrounding without having to work too hard.

You've come a long way in six years Q, you seriously got the bug after buying that D70. I'm not sure thinking you would pay for the camera by playing poker was a smart thing though! LOL

I really like the top and bottom photos. Great reflections in the top photo.

  4. You came home from your trip with some very nice pictures from your new camera!
After looking at these I'm thinking I might try puting my camera on Auto for a few shots and see how it works out...
