Sir John Falstaff?

I really don't have a clue who this guy was portraying but he looked like Falstaff to me. Jovial and robust he drew a crowd as he explained the latest in medieval weapons!

Falstaff was a Shakespearean character who showed up in three of William Shakespeare's plays. He was a fun loving guy I've read. Also Falstaff beer used a character that resembled this fellow in some of their early advertisements. So, being all the players and actors in the fair resembled renaissance characters with no names, I took the liberty to call this finely dressed gent, Falstaff!

Medieval Faces

  1. hahahahaa...indeed...the resemblance is amazing!!!
    Love the photo. Congrats!

  2. Indeed, this man certainly fits the profile! LOL

  3. I'd say you hit the nail on the head so to speak. So did you learn how to make a cannon? LOL

  4. he does appear to be a real character (pun!)

  5. In Texas, you would see a man look like that standing next to a BBQ pit.

  6. He looks like quite a character, that's all I know! =)
