Photography 101

Lesson One:
Don't fall off the mountain when you're trying ot take a photo!!

And what was he trying to take a photo of?

There was lots of water this trip. The mountain area received 6.9 inches of rain on Wednesday before our trip and the flooding was massive since there is mostly rock in this area and nothing for the water to soak into.

All of the lakes are now completely full from being more than half empty before. They all filled up in just a matter of hours.

  2. I would have to say that clinging to the side of that rock was worth the photograph he got! Beautiful waterfall photograph!

  3. Now don't try to cheat the old man out of his photo Paul! LOL I took both shots and I had to climb the other side to get them. (it was the easy side)

Aaron will have several shots of his own he'll be posting once he gets everything on his computer and starts working with them. We both took about 1200 shots. We were shooting everything we saw from different angles and different settings and we got into some good bird shooting that ate up a lot of memory card.

    1. Looks like you had some nice weather for your weekend photography excursion... 1200 pictures, that's great, give you both lots of material to work with!

    2. It started out a little cold on Saturday but it was sunny and finally warmed up to almost 70. We spent about 12 hours on Saturday in the mountains taking photos. Sunday was even better but we headed home around 3 p.m. so we were only in the mountains for about 7 hours Sunday. I was VERY tired when we got home!

  4. That's crazy! I would need a rope attaching to me before I attempted something like that. Nice shot on the waterfalls.

  6. Sweet! Not often one gets to see that much water flowing over Post Oak Falls. Going to be interesting to see Aaron's shot from his perch.

Happy to hear you got to spend so much time in the mountains. Also good to hear the lakes are full again!

    1. The lakes are VERY full! Quanah Parker lake was almost all the way out to the road where you turn in to go to the damn. They had the damn road closed until mid day because the water was flowing over the road so much.
