While visiting Western Oklahoma decided to take a short road trip on a rural less travelled highway.
Came upon Saddle Mountain Store. A few years back this early day hub of commerce was restored and saved for all to enjoy. Built in 1907 ( The Same Year Oklahoma Became A State ) makes it special!
TIGHT SQUEEZE !
Actually this warns of a very narrow bridge. Don't see to many of these signs on the state highways in todays times.

  1. Parker, Thanks for visiting A Camp Host Housewife's Meanderings. I appreciate your comment. We are doing exactly as you suggested. The fire is lit. It is clear what the summer is going to be at this campground and it is not a pretty picture. We take four days off this week to explore another campground. We'll see where that leads. I've signed up to follow your blog. Don't know if you saw my other blog, Levonne's Pretty Pics. I document our travels with my camera there. I love photography!

  2. 1907? They don't build them like they used to!

  3. Someone put a whole lot of themselves into building this old store! Like Ron says, don't build them like this anymore.

Interesting road sign. Can't say as I have ever seen one quite like it before.

Nice pictures and commentary on this posting.
