Merriment and Mermaids


Scattered over the grounds at several spots were the Minstrels, playing songs that were not familiar to me, but had catchy little rhythms and rhymes that added to the flavor of the Fair!



Impromptu dances and reels were common when the music was heard.



And now we have the Mermaids! Only thing I could figure out was, they were part of the Folklore of the Sea Captains and Sailors of that time. Friendly and cute, they added to the Merriment of the onlookers!

    Mermaids at a renaissance fair, that's a new one on me.
