Jake's new toy!

Jake my Stepson and avid mountain biker has been talking about getting a GoPro video camera for a couple of years. Yesterday he finally succumbed to the urge and got their latest and very capable unit the Hero3.

Besides mounting the GoPro on his biking helmet he's talking about getting a mount for his dog Maggie to wear, Maggie usually follows Jake quite closely when he rides and would make a perfect four legged, high speed, all-terrain camera platform. I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of interesting video he comes up with!

  1. Jake should end up with some good footage from that helmet mounted camera. One thing though--He needs to watch out for low hanging branches!!!

  2. We have a go pro, you will get some pretty interesting photos. They do make a special "do hicky" (my techno term) for the camera for dogs to wear. I've thought of getting one for my dogz. I would probably need to take some drugs in order to watch the video though. :) HAve fun.

    1. Jake posted a 4 minute video of him and his Niece bike riding around Port Hardy on youtube http://t.co/UpDQRfu6r4 I'd say it came out pretty darn good for only having the thing for less than 24 hours at that point!

  4. I have to agree with Parker, low branches could be a problem! LOL

I looked at a couple of those last year and they are supposed to be great for video, even underwater.

  5. I'm going to be very interested to see what he's doing with this and the results he gets... I'm also seeing that many of the new Nikon DSLR's have some good video features. If we ever get decent internet in this part of the world I might even be able to watch the odd youtube video now and then! Ha ha.
