Shoe repair

Found the funkiest old shoe repair shop and took a picture with my cell phone through the window. As it would turn out I'm away from home for a couple of days so this is posted from my cell too. Be interesting to see how well this works out.

  2. That's not a bad shot for a cell phone. I'm not sure I could even figure out how to post anything from my phone. I would probably end up throwing my phone in a lake somewhere trying! LOL

Shoe repair? I thought people just wnet out and bought a new pair?

    1. To be honest I haven't seen a shoe repair shop like this since I was a kid... looking in the window I could imagine the smell of leather and glue and some grey haired old craftsman...

    2. Paul, as you also imagined, the smells from leather, glue and polishes came to mind. I can still picture my friends Dad working at a lathe that looked like the one in your pic. Fitting new heels and soles to a pair of boots or shoes reqired the finishing touches of one or more of the grinding and polishing wheels. Don my friend made saddles of the highest quality in a room at the back of the shop........Thanks for a Memory Jog today!

Wonder what that new pair of white tennis shoes was in the shop for?LOL
