Wind Basket

10ft Raymond Vaneless Windmill
Circa 1900

Captured on a drab gray day and no matter how I fixed the settings on my camera, just couldn't seem to produce a color image that I liked. After downloading the pics in Picassa I tweaked this image in their version of Infrared processing. Going with the grays, blacks and whites, produced this image which was appealing to me and the age of the windmill. Happy I didn't hit the delete image button!

  2. I'm glad you didn't delete it too! Under the circumstances I'd say this picture came out real fine. I've never heard of a Raymond vaneless windmill before, going to have to Google it.

  3. Great composition and a new one for me, too. Windmills are always interesting images but this one is really different. Wonderfully interesting post!

  4. Have to agree with Paul, it's a good thing you didn't delete it. It turned out to be a nice shot and I have to say I have never seen a "wind basket" before.
