Whales with the Sigma 150-500mm Lens

Here is another series of whale shots taken from the firm, steady, unmoving Maui shore! These were shot with the Sigma 150-500mm lens at 500mm using a monopod. The photos are cropped about 40%. I'm just guessing but I would say this whale was a good 300-500 yards away when I took these photos.

  1. Good shots from that distance. Interesting color change in the water where the, I'm guessing, depth changes from shallow to deeper!

  2. That would be my guess Parker although I did notice during certain times of the day the angle of the sun would change the color of the ocean in certain areas. I guess that could be because of the depth too though.
