Eagles calling

I was out taking pictures of the sunset this evening when I heard the funniest thing from quite a ways down the beach. I heard voices calling "Parker, Aaron, Q, Ron, come take our pictures" over and over again! Naturally I went to investigate but only found these two sitting on a rock.

    1. You and Charlotte are welcome up this way any time! Bring your 5th wheel, stay awhile. You could spend a whole summer and still not see all of Vancouver Island! Vancouver Island is a little over 12,000 square miles thats about twice the land area of all the Hawaiian Islands put together!

    2. Gracious words my friend. I would definately bring the fifth wheel. Can not think of a better summer spent than exploring and photographing the remote regions of Vancouver Island. Does the invite include a romp on the beach with the dogs and a ride on your boat around the Bay? As I said "one of these days......"

    3. Not only does it include a romp with the dogs and a "3 hour" tour on the boat... It also includes a guided tour of some of the more spectacular and secret places I know up this way, better bring your hiking boots!

The trick would be for all of us Shutterbugs to find ourselves in the same place at the same time! Imagine the stories around the campfire if this bunch ever gets together! Haha

    4. Spectacular and Secret! Key words that always get my attention! Hiking Boots. Always close at foot! Romp with the Dogs? A must! 3 hour tour on the Boat? I'm In! All of the Shutterbugs sharing stories at the same place at the same time? Would take alot of wood to keep that Campfire burning. I will bring my saw and Axe!

    5. I'm in! How many can we get in that 5th wheel Parker? LOL

We really do need to figure out a way for us all to meet some where, sometime. I would have to buy a video camera for that meeting though.

    1. September is usually real nice around here and most of the "tourists" are gone by then.

  4. I agree with Ron. If he comes up there I will have to see if I can fit in his suit case. How close were you to these eagles? To hear their voices you had to be pretty close. I can even stop in my car to try and take a hawk sitting on a powerline with out it flying off.

    1. Aa ha! The old traveling in a suit case trick eh... Haha.

I was about 100 feet from the Eagles. I didn't go to a whole lot of trouble to try to get a good shot as the light was getting quit dim. The actual picture I posted is about 50% of the original shot.

  5. Man oh Man! I love that shot....... 100 feet from the Eagles, you can't ask anything better than that.
I can't promise you guys that I can meet you in Vancouver Island this year, we already have plan to visit Chicago, and Kauai this Summer. Well, we have get together at least once before I kick the bucket. By the way, do you do fishing charter on that 3 hours boat ride? It would be nice to catch some of the Salmons, and Halibuts to grill on the camp fire. LOL.
